Hi,
I'm looking for ways to ship items from US the cheap way also & came across your post here. Excellent information, I'd have to compare the shipping charges though.

About Malaysian custom, so far of all the 40-50 purchases I made online from various places of the world, a couple are bags from US, wallets, none are held at the custom (although 1 particular parcel of tiara got lost somewhere in between China & Malaysia) or got tax charged to it. Most of the time, it's labelled as Gift. From the online marketing seminar that I attended, this is one of the way to escape tax ;p another is to declare as 'Sample' or low value of the item.

But a friend of mine did have a bad experience of buying mobile phone from Germany where she got taxed for it even though her mom is somebody higher up in the IRS chain (come to think of it Custom & IRS got nothing to do with each other :p)

p-chan:<br />If the package is labeled as "gift" and less value declared(they is should a cap on maximum value of a package for it to pass custom without any hassels :P), then it might skip custom, just what i heard...

p-chan: i did have bad experience with malaysian custom too with stuff(shoes specifically) sent from UK to Malaysia.(from friend, not company), they charge really huge tax, and my mum had friend in custom, so we managed to get the item out ;), but it was bad experience, i also don't understand how stuff can be held in custom(under what criteria, method of shipping etc)
