Kuan-Hwa1

Very yummy seafood found in Pasir Panambang, Kuala Selangor, priced reasonably, we paid individually about RM70 (table of 10) to stuff ourselves silly with many types of seafood.

It is only about an hour drive to this place using the newly completed LATAR highway, three tolls of RM2 each one way.

Overnight-Starter-Bread0

White bread loaf made using overnight starter dough method, recipe from My Kitchen.

Overnight-Starter-Bread1

Left: Flour + Milk powder + yeast

Right(wrapped in cling film): Starter dough (made one day ahead mixing a small portion of flour + water + yeast and leave it in the fridge overnight)

Overnight-Starter-Bread2

Put the starter dough into the flour mixture

Overnight-Starter-Bread3

add a cold egg as well

Overnight-Starter-Bread4

Blend all these mushy ingredients together using hand

Overnight-Starter-Bread5

Blend in soften butter

Overnight-Starter-Bread6

Move dough mixture to a marble top counter or other area for kneading

Overnight-Starter-Bread7

barely pass the window pane test, this dough is really wet, i kneaded it for about half an hour and it barely become manageable or “drier”

Overnight-Starter-Bread8

After half an hour, the dough is still wet and very difficult to be managed -_-

Overnight-Starter-Bread9

Move it to a bowl for proofing

Overnight-Starter-Bread10

and proof for about 45 minutes

Overnight-Starter-Bread11

After 45 minutes it doubled in size

Overnight-Starter-Bread12

divide into 3 equal portion

Overnight-Starter-Bread13

roll it up using method described in The Kitchen

Overnight-Starter-Bread14

Put into a loaf pan for 2nd proofing

Overnight-Starter-Bread15

after 40mins of 2nd proofing, it doubled in size again.

Overnight-Starter-Bread16

After 35 minutes of baking in 200 Celcius

Overnight-Starter-Bread17

Pretty bread

Overnight-Starter-Bread18

So far the best bread that i have made, but as with other bread i made, the soft texture only lasted for about 1 day, after which it gets dry and harder.

Portuguese fish, RM8

My assam fish, taste ok, sourish from assam pieces, i think it is made with dory fish.

Mid-Valley-North-Tower-World-Cafe4

Canton BBQ chicken which looks artificially red

Overall, the price is considered reasonably cheap for food in Mid Valley City. The taste is nothing special though.

For breakfast, they do serve a very yummylicious sandwich, i think it is called World Sandwich, only RM4, two sandwich bread slices containing piping hot omelette and melted cheese, yum~

1U-Fish-and-Co1

Fish & Co is the ultimate place for me to indulge in great fish & chips, their fish is coated with ever so light and crispy batter, yummy, and i wonder why this Singapore franchise is only available in 1U Shopping Centre. They should have more branches in KL, it has been some times since i have fish & chips in another easily found Manhattan fish market, but i have always been more fond of Fish & Co’s.
