Senjyu1

Another treat from bf’s sis.

Other than Super Sushi Group(consisting of Sushi Zanmai, Sushi Zen etc), Senjyu is one of my favourite sushi chain. I have fond memories of their sweet tasting oyster 🙂

Senjyu2

Their oyster are shucked from live ones and not slimy but fresh and sweet tasting. I wonder whether they still have the RM50++ for 6 oyster deal. I really like their live oyster although i am not really a raw oyster fan.

Senjyu3

Yummy sashimi salad

Senjyu4

soft shelled crab

Senjyu5

shishamo and saba

Senjyu6

Yummy oyster! RM50++ for 6 pieces

Senjyu7

Salt grilled salmon head is nice as well

Senjyu8

chicken teriyaki set

Senjyu9

sweet nabe soup is not my thing, prefer salty savory soup

Senjyu10

maki

Senjyu11

first time tasting the salty sea urchin, the yellowish glob in the bowl to the right, not bad

Senjyu12

The unagi maki is really good as well

Senjyu13

green tea pudding with red bean and green tea ice cream; coffee jelly with vanilla ice cream; black sesame ice cream. Sweet Ending~

ElMeson6

Complimentary bread

ElMeson7

Spanish peppers stuffed with minced pork, RM18, just okay

ElMeson8

Roast pork belly, RM22

ElMeson9

Roast suckling pick with fried potato and salad, very soft, i find it doesn’t have much taste though in comparison to chinese type of suckling pig

ElMeson10

Platter of cold cuts for 2(RM54) – Iberico, Serano, Parma Ham, Speck, Chorizo with melon and olive. All taste salty and melt in the mouth. An experience to eat some of the most expensive ham.

ElMeson11

I think the above is Paella mixta with chicken, fish, squid, prawn etc, RM68, very nice!

ElMeson12

… just okay

ElMeson13

Chorizos – spicy spanish sausage with confit potato, love the potato cooked in pork fat probably, RM16

ElMeson14

Overall, i really like their paella, yummy!

Lobsterman_SS2_1

Cornershop in SS2

Lobsterman_SS2_2

Set for 2 pax RM128 which includes one 550g lobster which is really small, we top up RM20 to get the 700g one.

Lobsterman_SS2_3

Set for 4 pax(RM218) which includes only one 550g lobster

Lobsterman_SS2_4

i think this is the 550g lobster

Lobsterman_SS2_5

escargot

Lobsterman_SS2_6

mussel with suspicious looking cream sauce

Lobsterman_SS2_7

yummy pumpkin carrot soup i think

Lobsterman_SS2_8

mushroom soup

Lobsterman_SS2_9

my favourite new england style, boiled lobster eaten with melted butter, simple and nice

Lobsterman_SS2_10

Charbroiled

Lobsterman_SS2_11

Steamed chinese style with spring onion, which look the biggest among the 3 lobsters although they are supposedly all 700g

Lobsterman_SS2_12

mixed grill included in the set

Lobsterman_SS2_13

yucky cream sauce again on seafood rice, should have asked for the tomato based one

Lobsterman_SS2_14

simple fruit with whipped cream, nice

Lobsterman_SS2_15

Consider this an economical way of having a lobster meal, less than RM200 for a lobster meal for 2 pax, inclusive of one 700g lobster.

Oatmeal-Cookie0

Ingredients in metric as above, recipe taken from The Life & Loves of Grumpy’s Honeybunch

If you were to ask me, baking is not hard, the harder part is getting every ingredient ready, purchasing them, weighing them, and moments when in the middle of a recipe found out there is no sugar/egg… in the house, and have to rush out to buy them etc etc.

This time i didn’t decrease the total sugar amount, instead i used mostly brown sugar(more brown sugar than specified, and less caster sugar than in the recipe) around 70g caster and 180g brown sugar

Oatmeal-Cookie1

freshly ground cinnamon and flour

Oatmeal-Cookie2

sift the cinnamon

Oatmeal-Cookie3

ingredients: white and brown sugar, raisins, rolled oat, flour, egg, vanilla etc

Oatmeal-Cookie4

the butter and sugar could hardly be creamed, instead it ended up in clumps

Oatmeal-Cookie5

Fortunately it looks shiny after eggs are beaten in

Oatmeal-Cookie6

blend in flour, oatmeal, raisins

Oatmeal-Cookie7

tablespoonfuls

Oatmeal-Cookie8

I kind of under-baked them resulting in soft cookies instead of crispy ones

Oatmeal-Cookie9

rack of cookies

Oatmeal-Cookie10

Err, i don’t really like this kind of soft cookie i guess, perhaps it will be better if i further bake them till crispy

CheeseBread1

Flour cooked with water to make a roux

Recipe taken from Kitchen Corner, i think i will not make many bread recipe as home-made bread taste tougher and harder than store bought ones, so far my favourite bakery shop is Free Mori, bought their “Sampan” which is a crispy danish with fragrant salty butter taste topped with cream cheese and blueberry, yum~

CheeseBread2

fully cooked

CheeseBread3

topped with cling wrap straight away to prevent skin from forming.

CheeseBread4

butter, flour(bread flour + plain flour), milk powder, caster sugar, yeast, salt

CheeseBread5

mixed with water and egg

CheeseBread6

It was very liquidy although i followed the recipe closely

CheeseBread7

Had to add lots of flour to finally form it into a dough

CheeseBread8

egg glaze and pizza topping

CheeseBread9

Done

CheeseBread10

my aunts said it was nice but i find it just ok
