Some random shots of this Hari Raya Fraser’s Hill Trip. Fraser’s Hill is about 100km from Kuala Lumpur, taking 1.5 hour drive. The last climb of drive is one narrow road called the Gap Road. They have a tidal control whereby certain time, only outgoing car go thru, and vice versa.

Tidal control (only cars going up to Fraser’s allowed):
7:00 – 7:40am
9:00 – 9:40am
11:00-11:40am
Tidal control (only cars going out of Fraser’s allowed):
8:00   –   8:40am
10:00 – 10:40am
12:00 – 12:40am
Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints.
The famous clock tower which everyone take photo with.
On the way back, around Rawang area where they are lots of dragon fruit plantations.

Chiling Waterfall, Fraser’s Hill, between Fraser and Kota Kubu Bahru

entrance to Chiling Watefall
Opening hour
Tuesday – Sunday (closed on Monday)
6:00 am to 6:00 pm
All rushing to get sprayed on Mosquitous repelant which said to be leech repelant too. :D It is due to previous day where all get leeched in Bukit Kutu (between Fraser and Kota Kubu Bahru, closer to Kota Kubu Bahru)
Map of Chiling Waterfall (Peta Santuari Ikan Sungai Chiling). Difficulty level said to be low, but the sixth crossing of river is about chest level high, and all possession have to be carried above shoulder level, sound scary and cool at the same time.
Among those: only 4 person allowed to be on hanging bridge at any one time, which nobody really observed or adhere to.
Reaching there at 3:45pm, it will take 1 hour treking and river crossing to reach the waterfall. Officer on duty told us they will close at 5pm on that day as rain is approaching and river will overflow easily.
RM0.50 for toilet usage.
One of the bridge
Another shot of the bridge
So, we hang around for a bit, and leave relunctantly as we are there a lil too late.

Jeriau Waterfall, Fraser’s Hill

Air Terjun Jeriau / Jeriau Waterfall in Fraser
After 15 minutes walk, we reach this small waterfall.
Family enjoying the waterfall.
There are washrooms at opposite side of the waterfall. However, seems to be in deplorable state whereby shit are seen is three out of four of the washroom, even on the wall. Yuck.
Just a short stop to see what Fraser’s has to offer.

Old Hulu Yam noodle, way back from Fraser’s Hill -> Hulu Yam -> Rawang -> Selayang Restoran Beng Ki

Posted by vivien | Others | Thursday 2 October 2008 1:09 pm

Famous Hulu Yam Lo Mee, it is sourish with the addition of black vinegar
Ginger sauce Fish
Prawn (Udang Mantis)
Eggplant with minced pork, steamed egg with century egg in the background.
Claypot Wild boar
We have dinner at a un-named restaurant in Old Hulu Yam, RM180 for 18 of us. Food shown here is only half the orders, as we have 2 of everything shown here. Really good value and satisfying. Think this restaurant opened only this past June, the paint is new, and the interior is bare without any decoration.  The Ulu Yam noodle is specialty of this area.
