I just started working in Amcorp mall about 2 months back, this is a recount of all my work lunches.

Uncle Snacks Corner, 3rd floor in Amcorp Mall is our normal haunt. Normally, we don’t know what to eat, where to eat, or work is busy, we will just eat here

lots of choices

noodle menu

more options

dessert and drinks menu

ginger egg meehoon, not bad

bittergourd beehon, a lot of bittergourd, i quite like this one

again same bittergourd meehoon on different day

another favourite: prawn egg rice

their nasi lemak is just ok, really like their red bean soup though

fried rice. Green bean soup is really nice as well, with santan

prawn meehoon, quite nice

bittergourd prawn with rice, nice!

fried meehoon, nice!

rak thai in lower ground floor of amcorp mall

my tomyam, i remembered it being little portion with very little meehoon, RM8.90, not memorable

PJ New town is about 15 minutes walk from Amcorp mall, passing A&W, PJ Palm Sport Centre… Hakka mee from PJ new town famous coffee shop, yum

the famous prawn mee in this same coffee shop in PJ new town, nice

Famous pan mee in Hong Joo Coffee shop, PJ old town, 10 minutes drive from Amcorp mall, nice chewy texture of the noodle!

Weng Kee in PJ Old town food court, next to Pasar Jalan Othman, Cendol, RM2.80, gula melaka can serve separately, really nice with red bean, yum!

Weng Kee in Medan Selera Othman, their famous ABC dessert

A stall manned by an old aunty selling bak kut teh, wine chicken, pepper pig stomach etc. Very expensive, but the taste quite good, but she seems to have her own customer base.

My colleague and I were too hungry, because she took long to prepare our order. We ordered wine chicken and pig stomach pepper soup

My yong tau foo, their tofu is really soft and nice, overall, really nice! Above 5 piece YTF and 1 rice for RM8.80, RM1.5o for each piece of YTF

korean food in Amcorp mall 3rd floor – Haeun Khon Korean restaurant

my fried rice dish in this korean restaurant, ok ~RM8.90

very big portion of sun-dubu, tofu soup with seafood, RM22.90, not on the menu, we order extra rice, and shared this among two, yummy and very big portion, pretty sure 1 person can’t finish…

Uncle Chili in Amcorp mall lower ground

Uncle Chili, LG-08-2 Lower Ground Floor, Amcorp Mall, 1 Jalan Persiaran Barat, 46050 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

I think i had ginger fish fillet rice, RM6.20, okay only

Uncle Chilli’s tofu & mince chicken rice, RM7.90, taste ok, how bad can taste of deep fried stuff be 🙂 i did expect it to be tofu which is not deep fried though, 😛

khyber pass restaurant in PJ new town, about 15-20 minutes walk from Amcorp mall

Had this lunch deal

Portion wise looks little, but it is just enough to fill us up as it comes with free Coke

Meat & Match, Amcorp Mall ground floor, behind Juicee drink store

For rice dish, normally they only have biryani-with chicken or with boiled egg, so far no sighting of other rice dish

garlic naan, RM3.80, being a big eater that i am, i can be satisfied with just 3 cut pieces, instead of 4 pieces that is comes in, as the naan is very big portion and filling, can safely say this is one of the best place to eat naan

egg naan, their naan is quite good, can try

one of those day where mum is not cooking dinner, and tapao their garlic naan, the chef gave me free cheese inside the naan as well, making this garlic cheese naan, so yummy~

their egg briyani rice is good, big portion, RM6.80 *Update: they have changed their management i think from around July 2016, and their eye briyani or briyani for that matter is quite tasteless and not as aromatic as before

Amcorp mall LG floor restaurant selling roti canai etc

RM7, yummy simple roti canai + roti telor + orange juice

One of the rare occasion where we go midvalley, above is in Nana’s greentea

Tomyam bee hoon in Sri Suria, Amcorp mall ground floor restaurant called Sri Suria, verrrryyy spicy, taste is just ok, meehoon very little… not nice

my cendol, their cendol quite nice. If you want to have cendol in amcorp mall, you can either come to this Sri Suria restaurant-ground floor or Sri Melaka restaurant-3rd floor

another cafe called Ka Fei Dian on Amcorp mall ground floour, expensive price, and nothing memorable about this spaghetti

Sri Melaka-3rd floor in Amcorp mall, chinese fried rice, quite a big portion, taste is ok. I did also had their Cendol which is really good, just wished the gula melaka comes separately like how it used to though…

Laksa shack, ground floor amcorp mall, next to Secret Recipe, their food are all delicious, only the portion is on the smaller side, for me anyway

same pan mee with additional egg added

colleague’s cendol, doesn’t look that appealing, better go to Sri Suria/Sri Melaka

Assam Laksa, not bad

very aromatic and yummy curry laksa, wish the portion is bigger though, RM9.90 set lunch deal, with a drink

Colleague and I order Shogun2u.com, there was an a deal from 11street whereby RM22 for RM50 worth of shogun2u online shopping voucher, that works out to more than 50% discount, i had vegetable bibimbap, works out to only RM8.50 after discount, totally worth it

doesn’t looks like much here, but there is a lot of vegetables, and the rice is very big portion as well, yummy lunch

a shop called Mummy something in Amcorp mall LG floor, above is their nasi lemak only served during breakfast time, quite expensive at RM3, but i guess the price is justified as this is located inside mall

lunch in Mummy somthing shop during lunch, above is RM7.50, not bad, can try

Gloria Jean in Amcorp Mall, Green Tea frappucino, yum~

1977 chicken rice in Jalan Gasing, just a short drive away from Amcorp mall, RM6.50, just okay, they were swamped during lunch time, and there is only 1 piece of cucumber underneath the chicken until we requested for more, which they obliged by bringing us a big plate of cucumber, but still… Perhaps we should give the next door, corner lot selling chicken rice a try next time

Chun Kee Special Hand Pull Smooth Pan Mee, one of the better ones out there

Restoran He Pin, Off Jalan Penchala, Petaling Jaya Old Town

Krua Thai Thai food in Jalan Gasing, near Amcorp mall. Must try, one of the top Thai food, cheap and nice, one jug of kedondang juice only RM10.50 must order)

My current top favourite! healthy bowl of noodle with clear soap, refer to website: foodbin for more info, it is located in a single storey bungalow lot house next to PJ Old town’s 99 Speedmart.

pork noodle in this same bungalow lot/restaurant, yummy, home cooked feel

can add yong tau foo as well, missing the food in this bungalow lot house

Nearby to the noodle with clear soup above is the famous Yi Poh Lo Shu fun, quite nice

I order hakka noddle instead of lo shu fun

This could be my favourite claypot chicken rice, the rice grain is good without being mushy or hard, there is no overwhelming soy sauce, just enough of sauce to have some of the rice still looking white, and only chicken thigh/drumstick meat used, very nice!

Was craving for some of their steamed soup, but it ran out while we were there during a weekday evening ):

Ode to Newton Vanilla Souffle in Bistro a Table and Recipe: Chocolate Souffle

Bistro a table is among the few restaurant in Kuala Lumpur which serve souffle, a dessert which looks so gloriously good due to its height and look so light. Above is their copyrighted Ode to Newton which is a vanilla souffle with custard and hot ginger drink top with some lemongrass ice halve with nutmeg ice cream, the ice cream is suppose to drop into the hot ginger drink once we are done eating the souffle. around RM38

I like all the items individually, and not together, the souffle and cream are nice on its own, mixing them together make it slightly wet and mushy. Whereas the ice cream and ginger drink are good on its own as well, mixing them both together just make it into a lukewarm gingery milky drink which is not too appetizing.

After eating my second souffle in Bistro a Table, first i had in Augustin Restaurant, Ho Chi Minh. Above my first try making it using souffle recipe for 2 pax by Eugenie Kitchen.

Some adjustment made, not having milk, i use whipped cream substituting some of it with water. It turn out quite good, rising high. Success!
