Papillon1

Papillon is a a new restaurant in Solaris Dutamas, if not for a friend who worked there, i would never have known its existence, it is not facing the main road, shoplots around are mainly still empty, Comida restaurant is 2 shops away, duduk cafe is on the same row further away etc. They currently have a deal until 20th-ish August for ala carte dinner buffet(Monday – Saturday) for RM28.80 nett. This deal is supposed to be only for those who bought this RM28.80 voucher in Mydeal.com.my, but they decided to offer it to walk-ins  as well. But be sure to call in for reservation especially on Saturdays as i think they serve an  “optimum” capacity of about 25 pax on Saturdays.

Ala-carte menu

Overall, the food is tasty and best of all the drinks are free flow. Some kinks here and there need to be ironed out as some of the menu items like hot dog was not available although it is on the menu, cheese burger with no cheese etc, mix fruit with no ice cream. For RM28.80 nett, it is worth a try, their head chef is supposedly been head chef in the Palace of the Golden Horse.

Hi Vivien.. I disagree with your view on papilion. I must say it is one of the worst restaurants which I have ever visited. I went there with a bunch of my colleagues. We called and made reservation beforehand. The waitress took our order and we waited for at least 45 mins for our food but our food was not served. We then checked with the waitress and she asked us to repeat our order again as she has lost our order. One of my colleagues expressed her dissatisfaction but she was responded rudely by the waitress. The waitress then walked off without taking our order. Later we were served with some soup and main courses. We were shocked to find that the soup tasted “burnt” and the meat was also burnt. The standard of food is definitely unacceptable. All my colleagues were disappointed but since we bought the vouchers from mydeal.com, we were not allowed to request for a refund. Hence we walked off after that without having even some decent food that evening.

I can’t help wondering if u have tried their food and service yourself before writing this blog. But I am sure u did and not just that u must have loved their food a lot to have access to everyday’s menu. I must say one thing, although the influence of internet is great and some people will use internet to promote their business, but I do believe that one writing a blog must at least be truthful as I believe to lie ois definitely a sin!!

    Smile Always,
I am not always honest, i blogged based on my mood at times, at times i like to be honest and critical, at times i am pretty forgiving. It is pretty good deal of RM28.80 nett with free flow drinks and lamb, for days where we wish to eat more and yet don’t want to pay more 😛

Oh Gosh! I just realize I bought the voucher too. Is it really that bad? I am bringing my friend there and he will definitely laugh at me for being cheated it’s its true as what you all said. Should the food and service be better during the weekday (less people)?

L DO NOT ADVICE A BODY TO VISIT PAPILLON RESTAURANT,BECAUSE I WAS SO MUCH DISAPPOINTED IN WHAT L WAS SERVED THERE,THE MANAGEMENT WAS VERY POOR,AND I DOUBT IF THE OWNER OF THAT RESTAURANT HAD ANY LICENCE OR APPROVAL FROM THE GOVERNMENT,BECAUSE THERE KITCHEN WAS UNHYGIENIC AND SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR RESTAURANT.I CALL ON THE GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND CHECK THE STAFF OF PAPILLON RESTAURANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY UNDERGO MEDICAL CHECK UP,BECAUSE ALOT OF ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES ARE GOING ON IN THAT RESTAURANT WHICH THE MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT DO NOT KNOW ABOUT.

It saddens me to read a lot of negative comments coming previous patrons of the establishment. I for one have been quite a regular customer there (as well as a few friends of mine)and so far have received fair service from the wait staff with warm welcomes and smiles and pleasing enough chow for the amount of price paid. And at times after meals (usually lunch time),we’d get complimentary cinnamon tea or ice cream.
I won’t go by anonymity in case others question my credibility so just look me up if you want to see if I’m lying or am in cahoots with the restaurateur to boost his customer influx.
Whatever each person has experienced,I will just say mine has been satisfactory and if I’m every in the mood for a nice hot dish of cabonara or roast chicken,I will definitely pop on over there.
    Cheers!

we went for the thursday buffet dinner on 11/8, approx 7pm. the services and times for food delivery were the only acceptable areas, the food quality, choices and taste was way below par. many of the items was not available, some food was half cook, and generally the taste of the food was poor. we have been told that the chef was not report to work for the day, but this cannot be the excuse of such poor quality. at once they give me the impression that this is their last day of business, so they don’t care less. well, i will never return again, and i will make sure i will share this bad experience to my friends as well. regretted buying this vouchers, they should give us the refund.
