OUG breakfast, lunch spots

1. Restoran Hoi Sum
I prefer this fishball noodle in Hoi Sum over Weng Huat’s as this fishball is the type which I like, will ask them not to put celery vege(which I already removed from above bowl)
Below is same fish ball noodle from 2nd visit(without celery vege this time)
Wantan morsel is so so, so don’t really fancy this wantan mee
2. Restoran Weng Huat Kopitiam
Find this wantan Mee just so so, a bit too oily and the wantan taste so so
Fish ball is the spong-ey type, not the saito/parang type, so fishball is just so so although the portion is generous(4 big balls)
Above is kampung chicken rice, RM10, not meaty as it is mostly bone, slightly more expensive from kuchai lama’s
3. Restoran Joo Hing, next to BHP petrol station
Above is wantan Mee is so so only, wantan not nice(not much taste). On the other hand, the night session wantan Mee in this restaurant is very good(pictured below), the night wantan mee is another stall and according to them, open sinced 1970.
Below fishball noodle is not bad, taste is comparable with the one in Hoi Sum kopitiam, and portion here is more generous
Although is has mushroom which is rarity nowadays, pan Mee in Joo Hing is so so only
4. Hoong Beng / Hoong Pin coffee shop
The fishball noodle is not bad, taste on par with other fishball noodle in OUG. I remembered the curry is just ok, prefer Kuchai Lama Leong Wei or Girl & Mummy. In this coffee shop, the chee cheong fun is very popular and long line of ppl. The wantan Mee here is also one of my top favourite, the noodle is curly (a bit different from others and wantan very flavourful
Above is one of my favourite wantan mee from this coffee shop(their noodle is a bit unique curly, a bit like maggi shape), but it tasted better when I takeaway previously lol, they are not stingy with green cili when asked which is always a big plus
This curry mee is quite tasty as well(stall in shown in previous pic-Lou Ma). Overall my favourite curry mee in oug is the backlane curry mee next to OUG Lucky restaurant(no. 8 in this list) because they have nice fragrant lemongrass aroma, only downside is no siham there
5. OUG morning market
Won2 Chai2 Gou1 stall,a small push cart in Saturday and Sunday morning market, also in OUG Thursday night market(pictured below), very nice, RM3.80 for 2 pc
nice soft steamed tapioca sago kuih (the kuih is in green and yellow layer) sold in kuih stall below(around middle of the morning market)
6. Restoran Sun Sea
Famed pork noodle, I find the crowd is less now, they no longer default have small squid and prawn in the noodle, so less tasty now

7. Corner Coffee shop next to Top Catch Fisheries
They have torn pan Mee, not bad but prefer pan Mee with fresh pork rather than fried minced pork etc, overall don’t think I will go back for it. Their wantan Mee is from popular chicken rice stall, didn’t taste this roast pork+chicken noodle RM10.50 so can’t really comment
8. Pork noodle in OUG Lucky restaurant
this pork noodle is very popular as well, but we prefer the more famed one in Sun Sea which we find is more flavourful. This shop cook the pork noodle in batches, not individually. the portion for this is bigger than Sun Sea
Curry Mee on side lane next to the coffee shop, quite satisfying and yummy where I requested for no chicken meat, but with chicken feet which tasted gelatinous yum. And the seller did also eat their own curry (seen in the previous pic, lady with pink headwrap), always a good sign that their food preparation is hygenic. This stall is quite popular as well, always full of customer
this is their konlou style curry mee
