Pangkor Laut, 3 days 2 night, March 2023

Waiting near Pangkor Laut resort “lobby” on jeti’s side for our free speed boat transfer

Leaving from Pangkor Marina jetty

Almost reaching the island exclusively for Pangkor Laut YTL resort

Docking

Map of whole island

One of the restaurant in the resident package, each person can order one main+1 appetizer or one main+1 dessert

Nice view from our table

The tiramisu texture is horrible, it is basically clacky soft mushy underneath, I think too much coffee or it has been made for awhile that water seep to bottom

Our seaview room

One downside is there is no bidet next to toilet bowl

The bathtub opens up to the sea, not that we feel safe opening it up

From bathtub

Uncle Lim restaurant which is also part of resident package. For us 2 pax, we can order 3 dishes, and there will be soup of the day + dessert is fixed to be fruit platter

Soup looks simpe but surprisingly very nice, peppery and nice

Beef rendang, popular dish, taste ok

Loves this fresh crunch asparagus with yummy fresh prawn

View from our dining table

Walking back to our seaview room on stilts

From our seaview hotel area, we can walk on wooden pathway to Fisherman Cove, the restaurant looks nice but this is not included in resident package

We went super early like 7am to breakfast, lots of choices

Always love a fresh juice

Nasi lemak is so so, it is not piping hot and has some spice used which I don’t really like

Porridge is really nice

View from breakfast area

Nasi lemak looks nice but I not fond of the sambal taste which has unusual spice used

Yumm

Nice juggle walk exercise

The hike starts from library area, and ends at Emerald Bay beach, quite a good workout

Reached Emerald Bay, the beach is not clean, rubbish all over with 2 workers busy sweeping up the branches and rubbish. And there is many jellyfish small-ish plankton(was told it is not jellyfish) in the area that nobody is playing in the water. I swam a little and felt like the plankton is making my skin feels itchy so I chicken out and quickly swam back

The banana leaf served in cafe next to Emerald Bay is yummy!

Fish and chip is big portion and not bad

View from the cafe

Cendol is so so

Back to our seaview room, wave washing over lots of rubbish including a big rice bag

The jellyfish like plankton which fills the beach of whole island during the time of our visit, making the water un-swimmable

At night we went to dinner buffet, selection is not great but we didn’t want to go to Uncle Lim restaurant again (which is too filling as the dishes are very big portion and can order only limited items)

The dinner buffet is surprisingly cheap which makes us think the resident package is not really a bargain. If we go again, will try to negotiate only 1 day resident package and 2nd night room only

Breakfast roti jala, too crispy

Rubbishes washed up from overnight tide

Water is clear but lots of corals, only Emerald Bay’s beach on the other side of the island is swimmable, but too bad plankton filled it while we visited

Covered parking for 3 night is jeti at RM35/day!

Jia Fatt meesua, a landed house in Setaiwan, their mee SUA is nice

They sells different noodle. Start from RM 6 per pack, j bought Mee SUA and dried pan mee. Mee sua is nice, dried pan mee is usual. Be sure to drop by when going back to KL cos it just add 2km to the total journey back to KL.
We also went First Ocean trading to buy pangkor ikan bilis, they have 2 shop nearby, aanother must visit to get ikan bilis, adding just 3km to total journey.

Bought Mokla keropok lekor on the way back, just okay

Dined in random restaurant in Sekinchan

Okay small-ish prawn

Very fresh seafood from Hai Seng Huat, sekinchan, RM70 for big prawn(20pc per kg)
