This is a second post on
Happy Meal, a revisit to this bakery selling what westerners love to hate, but might just love it with practise… 😀 Durian, the thorny looking fruit and also known as the king of fruits.
How to get there? Imagine yourself standing in the most known intersection in Chinatown, with Longan drink somewhere behind you to the right side, and Soya bean stall in front of you, take this road in front of you.
Walking steadily, you will see Popular book store somewhere in front on the left side. Last time Popular book shop was at another area of Chinatown, i am not sure whether they moved or they are 2 shops. You can also see Hotel Malaya on your left side.
Yep, you have reach the intersection where Happy Meal is at. It is the corner shop on the right.
Baked goods on display
Durian tart, RM2.50, i find they are too creamy, not in a delicious way, as if they have put quite a bit of cornstarch in it…
Durian swiss roll, RM2.20, i find it to be so-so and not worth buying.
Well equipped kitchen
Famed durian puff, RM2.80 for 4 pieces, this is must try, can see strand of real durian flesh in the cream.
Durian Tart, closed up
Durian cake, RM1.30, nice cake with subtle durian taste, worth trying.
Durian swiss roll, closed up, the cream is same with the durian puff’s, taste like any other swiss roll.
Here my recount on a durian feast i had on one fine Saturday morning. Do bring your friends from oversea, westerners perhaps to this shop, sure will be good experience for them… 😀
