1. Ho Liao noodle

Looks good but it is nothing special, it doesn’t really have the old-taste which I am looking for, not enough porkish aroma, the wantan is quite tasteless as well.

2. Choy Kee roast duck which is also in Shoppee food. Shopee selling RM47 for half a duck, whereby here is RM39 per half duck. Their duck look freshly roasted when we reach around 10:30am on a Sunday

According to the owner, their fried stuff are fried in oil which is changed daily, so they charge slightly higher price. I don’t think the price is higher, it is RM1.70/RM1.80, outside is charging RM1.50 but oil is dirty blackish. You can really see their oil is clean and can see through to bottom of wok. Even the famous you-tuber recommended yau- char-kuay store in Sri petaling morning market who purportedly change oil daily is blackish in colour when I went recently. Really recommended you to go to Lai Lai to get fried stuff cooked in clean oil
Below is we visited Lai Lai in July 2023. The oil is quite dirty, think they don’t change their oil daily now. The dessert however are nice: not too sweet, very big bowl, full of ingredients and quite cheap, don’t mind going back for their dessert soup.

4. Diagonally opposite is TC Taste Ori Pastry which sells usual baked pastries and frozen pau. We bought 6 frozen char siew pau (RM16.80) and 6 frozen red bean pau (RM 11.90), tasted so so only

Overall, find it expensive and not worth to go all the way there for this. Rice is very nice, rest of ingredient is just okay

Bergedil which has bits of minced meat is it cost RM3.70 per piece, so expensive and not even taste nice, prefer bergedil which has no meat in it.

My neighbourhood nasi lemak in Kuchai Lama, or in Sri petaling cheaper and better than this quite exorbitant priced NL.

this cafe has 2 branches, one in Kepong, the other in Puchong. Overall, I find their food tasty and slight cheaper than other cafe. For one, their green tea latte(RM13) is like double the size of many cafe, cheaper and still yummy. Their pesto pasta(RM25) is also very yummy though the addition of prawn doesn’t add much to me. Their croque monsieur is a deconstructed one and not real croque monsieur, but everything do taste nice, the croissant tasted of real butter etc. Don’t mind a revisit

Every once awhile, hubs and I like to go to Tonkatsu Ma Maison for meal. We always ordered a jumbo pork loin and add one a share-and-refill (additional person’s unlimited rice+soup+cabbage)

It is really a budget meal which fills us up due to the unlimited rice+soup+cabbage, and the pork loin is always so juicy inside and crispy outside… Yum~

Thinking about having this again

They have many branches: Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Sunway Pyramid, One Utama mall, Publika, Subang Main Place, 163 Retail Park Mont Kiara, Bangsar South the Sphere

their best seller cheesecake-Jaguar cheesecake(which priced at whopping RM25) is just so so (it pales in comparison to Tokyo restaurant’s) though it looks nice with 2 layer. Didn’t try their signature burnt cheesecake. Their food are really big portion, and I like the my pesto pasta, but overall, not a place I will revisit
