Bought a Everyday living social deal for Tarbush, RM65 for 2 pax, a satisfying meal, it is so much cheaper considering i was there almost 4 years ago and we paid more than that for 2 pax. It includes below:

1 Appetizer (choose from : Tarbush Hommus<chickpea>, Baba Ghanoush<eggplant mixed with tomato etc>, Mutabal<eggplant mixed with white bean etc> & Labne<cottage cheese>)

1 Main course (choose from Maklouba (Lamb/Chicken)<eggplant spiced rice with meat>, Bamyeh with White Rice<okra lady’s finger stew>, Kofteh Stew with White Rice (daud basha)<meatball stew with rice> & Biryani (Lamb/Chicken))

1 Grills (choose from Spicy Shish Tawook<grilled chicken cube>, Shish Kabab<grilled lamb mince> & Grilled Spring Chicken)

1 Dessert(choose from Mahalabia<milky cream dessert with sprinkles of pistachio>, Cream Caramel & Fruit Platter)

2 Soft Drink (choose from 7up, Miranda Orange & Pepsi)

Free pickles for nibbling(that’s is raw chilli padi which is very spicy), nonpitted black olives, cucumber and some pickles

Tarbush hummos which is very fragrant with sesame, a tad salty but very nice.

Complementary bread, it would be better if the bread is warmed.

Lamb Maklouba(rice is cooked with eggplant/tomato) with yoghurt on the side, lamb is warm and flavorful, rice is very big portion, i think i would have preferred briyani rice as this rice taste of cumin/fennel, quick a distinct spice scented rice.

Lamb kebab, moist and piping hot from the grill, taste good

Overall, i find this is a good deal from living social as the portion served is normal portion and not sized down, a filling and satisfying meal.

It’s About Food!

My friend bought a deal from livingsocial Everyday.com for Restaurant Telok Gong, RM38 for 4 dishes (including Coconut Prawns, fried fish, vegetables with century egg and lala meehoon). This restaurant is the first one along the road, whereas the second restaurant is the famous Coconut Flower seafood restaurant.

It is relatively fast and easy drive from Cheras using Kesas highway, all the way straight passing 3 tolls, and we pretty much reach Telok Gong in less than an hour.

Around 8 prawns and lots of tomyam broth to be eaten with rice 🙂

Their lala meehoon is much better than those we had in Kuala Selangor, slight  “stickyness” from meehoon and not wet. Yum~

Additional order: clams in superior broth, RM20, very fresh and nice.

Sweet sour crab, i think it was RM24 but it was waived due to some of the crabs are not fresh, the flesh texture is very soft and floury.

Overall, we only paid additional RM31 for rice, tea and the clams.

Fried Paku

Clear Tom Yam soup, RM15, not much seafood, just enough for 2 pax, very sourish with lime juice taste, i find it has a fair bit of sugar/fish sauce undertone, other than it quite appetizing.

Australian inspired breakfast joint has became popular this past year, most notably is Antipodean in Bangsar (next to La Bodega) and also The Red Beanbag in Solaris Dutamas. Last i know red beanbag only open till 5:00pm daily.

We are looking for Red beanbag in Solaris Dutamas, turn out we walked opposite of where it is situated, might as well take a photo to show location of this restaurant.

Restoran Mosin in TTDI, same row as TTDI Pizza Hut is the place to go when i am craving for naan, their garlic naan to be specific. As per above addresses in the receipt, there are actually 2 branches of Mosin in TTDI alone, one along Jalan Wan Kadir 2, the other along Jalan Aminuddin Baki

My favourite garlic naan(RM3.50), not oily at all, the way i like it instead  of some other mamak which has butter brushed on

Nasi lemak(RM2.50), just ok

rice and noddle dishes

Naan menu, their mumtaz naan is quite famous with butter, mayo, cheese, tomato etc on top, which i find it to look very cloying.
