Yat Lai is the famous coffee shop selling bun to the Malay royalties in this royal town of Malaysia-Kuala Kangsar, Perak. Was there for work.

Right: Chicken bun, RM1.60, light and fluffy skin, the dough doesn’t stick to the teeth, they also sell beef curry bun, but it was fully booked for the day. Apparently the bun are faved by the royal families of Kuala Kangsar, and royalties from other state also buy buns from here as this restaurant is halal.

This is no Joke

a night out to Ipoh while working in Kuala Kangsar for the week. Missed this mixed fruit ice in hawker stall near Sam Tet high school, there are i think 2 stalls selling mixed fruit ice, we went to Stall 22.

with generous fruit topping, only RM3.80, can’t find this is KL. KL’s mixed fruit ice is quite skimpy in their toppings.

Potato Gnocchi with butter truffle sauce, thought gnocchi should be dented with fork kinda shape, not this cut shape, anyway, first time having gnocchi and truffle, kinda rich creamy filling dish
