Shanghai 10 Grand, Avenue K Shopping Mall

Taro cake fried carrot cake style
fried rice (medium)
Chee Cheong Fun stuffed with vegetables
Siau Long Pau
Pau with Salted egg custard filling
Fried avocado roll
Shrimp ball with crab meat
Overall find the food very oily, very few customers on a Sunday afternoon, but in fact whole Avenue K is pretty quiet.

Random eats for lunches in Singapore

Posted by vivien | Others: Singapore | Monday 27 April 2009 9:47 am

Fish ball noodle, about S$3 (Lau Pa Sat)
Spring Onion Cake, S$3 (Lau Pa Sat)
Pu4 Gai4(noodle) noodle, sounds like pok4 gai1(Cantonese) but it actually translated to flat cover noodle, the noodle comes in flat big pieces, S$3.50 (Lau Pa Sat)
Prawn Mee which taste sweet, ewww, most unappetising noodle i had in Singapore (a cafe in One Marine Boulevard building)

Random chow in KL eating places

don’t go for Secret’s Recipe RM9.90 deal for this week – Tom Yam noodle(noodle choice: Thai Noodle(seen above), Spaghetti noodle and Laksa noodle), no prawn in this one, noodle not fully cooked, not warm enough, not worth it (usual price: RM13)
my favourite snack, healthy and yummy (salmon and japanese cucumber) about RM6.50 from Jusco supermarket, just the right size for popping into mouth while driving :P
Old Town kopitiam in LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) is more expensive
But this toast is yummy, i can taste SCS butter, unlike some Old Town which put huge slab of “buter” which taste more like margerine to me, about RM3.50(LCCT’s branch)
yummy Ikea chicken wing(RM3.80) and kid’s size spaghetti(RM3). Spagetti is so so.
Teng2 Chai2(cantonese) porridge, RM5 in Taman Bahagia hawker stalls, so so mostly i don’t like the fried peanuts and anchovies on it.

Lavshuca makeup

Posted by vivien | Journal | Friday 24 April 2009 10:28 am

Sis in law bought these makeup for me while she went back to Taiwan. I am a noob in makeup, in fact it is her who keep on pushing me to makeup, buying me and giving me her makeup which i use while visit Malaysia, but were left to dry up after she left… haha… We joke that it was a way to attract bees while i was still single… While i do like good makeup on people, they look good, tidy, nice lashes, perfect skin, i am just too lazy for it, like seriously my trip to work takes almost 1 hour, i rather sleep more. guess i am not used to makeup. I will use it soon, hopefully since already bought makeup remover.
Above clockwise from left: eyeshadow, control base, lip gloss, makeup base, eyeshadow, blush. According to her, control base(which has slight shimmer) should be applied first, follow by the makeup base(foundation like)…
Lavshuca is under Kanebo, and currently as far i know not available in Malaysia.

Pepper Chicken Soup, Kepong

Posted by vivien | Kuala Lumpur and Selangor | Friday 24 April 2009 10:20 am

Went to this corner hawker shop in Kepong, near KTZ dessert place
Tau Hu Pok in Bak Kut Teh soup, RM2
half a kampung chicken in pepper soup, RM18, i like pepperish soup, wish they gave more cilantro leaves though.
dessert in KTZ, RM5.50, yum yum, but i still miss the mixed fruit dessert in Ipoh, so good, KTZ version pales in comparison.
Overall, pepperish chicken soup is a nice homely dish that comfort your soul and stomach :)

had steamed sweet potato light coated with honey/syrup, nice
salted fish fried rice
looks like chinese fried rice
beef kuey tiaw which looks really smooth
my fish porridge, RM5
Yut Kee is frequented by the rich tai-tai/aunties and famous people, saw Elaine Daly and Kopitiam actor(a guy, don’t know his name) there.
Eating Asia recently blogged about their roast pork which make me salivate… haha
Also, refer to my previous post on Yut Kee.
