Restoran Hoi Sum, now renamed to Bing Huo
Bing Huo also has a branch in Kuchai Lama (Hoi Sum now moved to opposite of Bing Huo I prefer this fishball noodle in Bing Huo over the one opposite road in Hoi Sum as this fishball is the type which I like, will ask them not to put celery vege(which I already removed from above bowl). Below is same fish ball noodle from 2nd visit(without celery vege this time). One gripe is i find it quite msg laden. Wantan morsel is so so, so don’t really fancy this wantan meeRestoran Weng Huat Kopitiam (now renamed to Hoi Sum)
Find this wantan Mee just so so, a bit too oily and the wantan taste so so Fish ball is the spong-ey type, not the saito/parang type, so fishball is just so so although the portion is generous(4 big balls) Above is kampung chicken rice, RM10, not meaty as it is mostly bone, slightly more expensive from Kuchai Lama’s. I find it better to order chicken breast option which is cheaper and pack with ample meat. Pork noodle here not bad, full of ingredients, can tryRestoran Joo Hing, next to BHP petrol station
Above is wantan Mee is so so only, wantan not nice(not much taste). On the other hand, the night session wantan Mee in this restaurant is very good (pictured below), the night wantan mee is another stall and according to them, open sinced 1970, and open daily from around 2:30pm onwards daily except Thursday(when there is Pasar Malam) Below fishball noodle is not bad, taste is comparable with the one inHoong Beng / Hoong Pin coffee shop
The fishball noodle is not bad, taste on par with other fishball noodle in OUG. I remembered the curry is just ok, prefer Kuchai Lama Leong Wei or Girl & Mummy. In this coffee shop, the chee cheong fun is very popular and long line of ppl. The wantan Mee here is also one of my top favourite, the noodle is curly (a bit different from others and their wantan very flavourful Above is one of my favourite wantan mee from this coffee shop(their noodle is a bit unique curly, a bit like maggi shape), but it tasted better when I takeaway previously lol, they are not stingy with green cili when asked which is always a big plus This curry mee is quite tasty as well (stall in shown in previous pic-Lou Ma). Overall my favourite curry mee in oug is the backlane curry mee next to OUG Lucky restaurant(no. 8 in this list) because they have nice fragrant lemongrass aroma, only downside is no siham thereOUG Morning Market
Won2 Chai2 Gou1 stall, a small push cart in Saturday and Sunday morning market, very nice, ~RM4/5 for 2 pcLucky Restaurant
Curry Mee on side lane next to the coffee shop, quite satisfying and yummy where I requested for no chicken meat, but with chicken feet which tasted gelatinous yum. And the seller did also eat their own curry (seen in the previous pic, lady with pink headwrap), always a good sign that their food preparation is hygenic. This stall is quite popular as well, always full of customer this is their konlou style curry meePeninsular Hainan Coffee Shop
(behind Steven’s corner) wantan mee which I find tasted so so my favourite food here is the pork noodle, yummy, had this multiple times previously when i often have pork noodle. Havent have it for sometimes now. this is dried version which hub had yummy their ice coffee is among the best I have had, not too sweet, nice fragrance and consistent taste during our multiple visits the Kai si Hor Fun is ok, can try, I am just not much fan of KSHF generally below is Hainan curry mee which has many good review online, but I find it ok ok only and doesn’t taste that great, the Lao Ma curry mee & backlane curry mee in OUG are both better than thisYi Feng
Google Map they are famed for their salted coffee, taste quite nice but not something I will rush to return back, I prefer ice coffee in Peninsular Hainan which is slightly cheaper and consistently good(more aromatic that Yi Feng’s) Porridge is not bad, wantan mee is just ok(only plus point for me is the unlimited pickled green cili)NSV restaurant
in Taman United(near OUG) Google Map Porridge is tasty, wantan mee can be skipped(look and taste not nice), pork noodle (can’t really remember how it tastes, I think it is big portion and tasted not bad but not sumthing I would return specifically for). Their char kuey tiaw is quite famous but do go maybe 10am or later as they not open so earlySun King City
few doors away from oug morning market’s 99 speedmart, google map overall very nice Ipoh Hor Fun (coming from a non-KSHF person like myself), the broth is tasty. Only gripe is they don’t have kampung chicken although it is in the menuRestoran Ong Lay
the dried noodle with petai minced meat is really nice, and I actually had it 3 times that week for 2 consecutive week. And end up now buying petai and planning to cook a version of it myself 😛 Also, do check out also my post on best food in Kuchai Lama & best food in Sri Petaling
