Miscellaneous Food Musings
Miscellaneous food musings, food photos taken over period of 1 year i guess, and finally clear all backlog of food photos from my Ipod after posting following 43 photos below.
Ben’s Grocer in Publika, above is crabmeat corn salad with fish pie. The salad is quite refreshing with fresh corns and some arugula/rockets. The fish pie though loaded with ingredients(fish, mussel etc), i find the sauce quite milky and rich
Orecchiette pea salad and mushroom lagsana with pesto, the mushroom lasagna bechamel sauce is quite rich as well, and i find it is loaded with the cheaper oyster mushroom instead of the tastier and more expensive fresh white mushroom
was craving for fries when i was sick few months back. Above is shoestring fries from Delicious. prefer thicker cut fries.
Above is minestrone soup, healthy and tomatoey i like since i read somewhere that tomato can prevent sun damage on skin!? 🙂
Fat Boy burger in Publika
ample choice to customize your own burger, too many choice perhaps
lamb burger, The burger was ok but the fries is really really nice! Crispy outside and creamy inside
Happy City steamboat next to Carrefour Kepong was just so so
Jalan Ipoh Taman Bamboo noodle shop mentioned in kampungboycitygal.com
Loh mee is nice with homemade noodle
Dumpling is forgetable though
Jalan Ipoh Jalan Bayan tai chow, just to try their assam fish

Assam fish, RM24. Can be satisying although the fish was those thawed from frozen, filled with my favourite brinjal, lady’s finger.
Kepong tuck kee dim sum is just ok, not as good as i remembered
Kuchai Lama food courty
Kung Fu pan mee is surprisingly very nice, the dough is hand pull till very long, one of the nicest pan mee texture i have so far.
Nong & Jimmy in Pandan Indah, above is baked crab
boiled cockles, fried rice etc, a satisfying meal in Nong & Jimmy
Baked crab is good, didn’t try the other crab at far end
The Famous Village Park nasi lemak in PJ
Publika’s China Wok chicken rice looks sad
Their fish head noodle is very forgetable, i asked for thick mee hoon, and they said it is thick kind, but it is clearly NOT 🙁
Free Mori in Publika! the best bakery in my book as of now, better than The Loaf, Lavender etc. I like the buttery taste in their pastry, tried their “Sampan” which is a blueberry cheese pastry
Sin Kee in Brickfield’s
Sin Kee’s seafood stewed rice, ok la, old school style
favourite Snowflake cold bestseller with additional yummy yam
Beer hive restaurant in SSTwo mall
beer battered fish in Beer hive, Fish & Co is better and cheaper
Porrige Time in Paradigm mall
Frog porridge, RM9.50, i think lots of msg inside as i felt very thirsty after eating it
loads of porrridge choices
Adds on to porridge
Colleague made vietnamese dessert – glutinuous tice with yam with coconut cream, the taste is really good but the rice is cooked till too mushy
Banana cafe catering is very yummy, a farewell lunch in office catered by them
Camel nuts(natural cocktail mix) from Singapore is really nice but expensive, usually RM12.90
Cake of the month bought from PJ Hilton(RM35) – above is supposedly peach flan, i was expecting custard-like filling but insteadd it is mostly sponge inside.
Nice sandwich from Sun Moulin in KLCC, their bread is buttery brioche like with ham and cheese filling
Frozen yogurt from Nolita in Cheras Viva mall is by far the cheapest froyo i found, with one free topping! It does taste a bit more milky than sourish though, but still worth trying. Above is almond with i think dried apricot/peach
First pride chicken nuggets are spicy and not bad, they supposedly manufacture Mcdonald’s chicken nugget.
Very yummy Garrett’s popcorn in 1Utama, love their caramel with macadamia nuts
And lastly, a picture of my favourite maggi flavour – asam laksa
