Restoran Lan Je Puchong

Kedai Makanan Lan Je is famous for their steamed talapia fish, they have branches all over Klang valley, like Balakong, Bandar Puteri Puchong, Shah Alam’s Kota Kemuning, Kota Damansara, Desa Aman Puri, Subang USJ 1 and even one stall in Sungei Wang’s Level 3 “Big Food Street” food court, their head quarter restaurant is in Rawang, and to date the latest branch is in Kepong, somewhere behind Kepong Carrefour.

obligatory vegetable

Lan_Je_3

steamed fish, RM17.50

Their fish comes in only one cooking style, that is steamed with fermented bean paste, garlic and ginger tinged soy sauce topped with some coriander, but customers can opt to have it mild, spicy or extra spicy. The level of spiciness determine the amount of cili padi which will mount on top of the fish. I like the extra spicy steamed fish which is topped with lots of minced cili padi.

Overall, i really like food here, satisfying meal for 2 under RM50

2 sandwiches

Tommy_Le_Baker_11

yum, after trying their Camembert, brie and Pont l’eveque soft cheese, i prefer Camembert which is slightly more solid than brie.

Tommy_Le_Baker_12

my default takeaway order, yummy Camembert cheese baguette, RM10.60 with smears of butter and lots of tomato and some sauce which i don’t really know made of what, but yum. Freshly made and toasted, looks burnt, but can’t taste anything wrong with it, still as delicious

Tommy_Le_Baker_13

another takeway of cheese baguette. I did bought one plain baguette back, find it very extremely chewy to eat as it, i guess really have to toast it to turn chewy-teeth-pain texture to nice crispy exterior just like those toasted in their shop

They sell only 2 types of cakes, both are chocolate cake, one of it being Chocolate Heaven, the other is their signature called Trianon

Le_Trianon_2

2 branches, first one is in Citta Mall Ara Damansara

Le_Trianon_3

Trianon slice cake, RM9.80, it is not bad, but do find the whole cake quite hard, perhaps not properly defrosted yet. Bottom is crunchy-cereal base. Otherwise, the chocolate taste is nice.

A restaurant reputed to use no msg in their food, basically homely food like soup, even hokkien mee available here with pork lard. There are under Eu Yan Sang, so no surprise that there are serving quite decent soups.
