aftermath

a new experience, felt as though i am eating in Indonesia, not really fond of their taste, maybe cos of the bad beef smell from cow’s stomach dish, and milky pepaku dish, but the teh botol, fish etc are nice.

menu

Ninja Jones is in Northpoint of Midvalley City, there is a overpass link on Midvalley Level 1 North Court to Northpoint.

Above is their menu, we ordered a ninja course set: with soft shell crab salad, shuriken No 1, salmon carpaccio(marinated raw salmon), california roll, stone grill chicken, teapot soup and tiramisu at RM68

soft shell crab salad

soft shell crab salad, the crab is oily and soggy.

tofu

tofu with minced ginger and chives/spring onion

stone grilled chicken

stone grilled chicken, sizzling warm and nice

tempura

tempura, oily, batter is slightly too thick and heavy.

salmon carpacio

salmon carpaccio, with crispy ginger shred, i would prefer salmon sashimi.

takoyaki

takoyaki like ball, with mayo, crab meat etc inside, quite good

california temaki

california maki, standard

teapot soup

teapot soup, really nice and flavorful

grilled king mushroom

Eringi Ninniku Shoyu Grill/Grilled King Mushroom, nice snack, RM18

snapper carpacio

the have special of the day/not on menu: RM60 for half a fish, i think it is a deep sea snapper from Japan. You can cook it 2 style, chose carpaccio and soup. If you order whole fish, you can have it 4 styles: sashimi, carpaccio, soup, grill etc…

snapper soup

soup, i find it soup just ok, prefer the teapot soup.

caterpillar roll

caterpillar roll, RM19, really nice, with unagi inside.

tiramisu

tiramisu which comes with the set, so-so

egg custard

complimentary egg custard from chef, not fond of the egg smell.

Overall, a really nice place for japanese food, all their items taste pretty good although i will probably steer clear of their tempura and other deep fried stuff, they are not light and crispy, but soaked with much oil.

damansara kim

Damansara Kim is in SS20, near Tropicana city mall. This stall is open on Monday – Sunday, 9:30am till 3:30pm

fish head noodle

only 1 lady cooking, prepare to wait for a while

main course

menu, i find their picture misleading, however they do wisely quote “actual dish may vary” at the bottom of the menu. And the dessert sago gula melaka comes with red bean in the above pic, but the actual order came without :\ that is quite a big variance.

drinks and dessert menu

drinks and dessert menu

2 drinks

herbal jelly/cincau on the left and longan drink to the drink, their drinks are sweeter than i would prefer.

cili padi

cili padi(bird eye chilis) which is coarsely blended, nice.

haruan fish noodle

my harun fish noodle with lai fun, RM9.80, you can opt for mee hoon type for RM9.50… Lai fun is usually used for assam laksa, it is too smooth for a fish noodle dish 🙁

fish paste noodle

Fish paste noodle, RM8

ice kacang

ABC/ice kacang/mixed ice dessert

sago dessert

sago gula melaka/tapioca balls with palm sugar coconut base

their soup is nice, but the lai fun is a turn off. My haruan fish is really fresh and thickly sliced. A lot of customer frequent this place.
