PC Fair in KL Convention Centre

Posted by vivien | Kuala Lumpur and Selangor | Sunday 2 August 2009 11:22 am

Went to PC fair today, above is at P1 WIMAX booth, for looking up areas which are currently covered by P1 WIMAX, the sales rep said wimax will have full coverage in whole malaysia by the end of the year… in a different note, my english sucks so bad, i find it harder to write on this blog for the past few weeks… really… it is like i am checking the grammar, adjective, and just can’t decide how it should be phrased…
“people mountain people sea” (a chinese idiom)
my loot for the day, RM219 Western Digital Elements HDD External harddisk, 320Gig, yeah :) it is a better than getting a new camera… no? hahaha, anyway, this is cheaper than a camera that i am so unwilling to fork out, but Panasonic Lumix LX3 which is sold out in US(…) looks so cool… :P New camera is like a luxury for me as my currently one is still functioning although the pictures are not clear.
A economical place for dinner – Pizza Milano in KLCC’s Signature food court. They sell pasta and pizza.
Creamy Seafood Aglio, such a weird combination, RM9 nett
My Seafood Aglio, RM8 nett, quite good and spicy, very big portion.

Crusty bread served with Sundried Tomato dippings (complimentary)
Parma harm with melon, first time having parma ham, it taste almost cottony and slight salty, nice, RM34
Penne with prawns tails and spicy sausage in fresh tomato sauce, RM32, very nice, the pasta is al dente
Linguine “cozze e polipetti” with baby octopus and imported mussels in spicy tomato sauce, good too although i am not very fond of the baby octopus fishy smell. RM32
panacotta in berry coulis, RM16, nice panacotta with speckles of real vanilla bean.
They also served wood-fire pizza, but only for dinners. This is a quaint little up-market restaurant serving tasty food.

The Manhattan Fish Market, Sogo

Posted by vivien | Kuala Lumpur and Selangor | Monday 29 June 2009 10:54 am

Mushroom soup + refillable ice lemon tea for RM9.90 (Add on to a main dish) Mushroom soup is a refreshing change from usual whitish mushroom soup although taste is just ok.
Garlic Mussel, love dipping the bread into the garlicky sauce. yum yum, RM16.90
Bake Dory Fish in Herbs, taste a bit odd, and the herb made the fish look a bit unappetisingly greenish, RM21.90
I still prefer Fish & Co over Manhattan Fish Market

Shang Place, dim sum in Shangri-La hotel

Posted by vivien | Kuala Lumpur and Selangor | Saturday 9 May 2009 5:19 am
Cousin invited me for her favourite dim sum place in Shangri La hotel, century egg porridge with chicken, so so only, Crystal Jade one are the best.

Yam Puff, a bit cold already when served.
char siew pastry, so-so as i am not char siew lover.
egg custard tart, used to be better, oily.
prawn steamed rice roll
prawn dumplings
xiao long pau, small and thick skin :\
siew mai, very good, must order, top with scallop and the egg roe on top is juicy.
char siew pau
tea is RM4 for person, totaled just short of RM180, we had about 2 sets of each order. parking rate is insane in hotel, we dine for less than 1.5 hours, and the parking fee is RM8.

Shanghai 10 Grand, Avenue K Shopping Mall

Taro cake fried carrot cake style
fried rice (medium)
Chee Cheong Fun stuffed with vegetables
Siau Long Pau
Pau with Salted egg custard filling
Fried avocado roll
Shrimp ball with crab meat
Overall find the food very oily, very few customers on a Sunday afternoon, but in fact whole Avenue K is pretty quiet.

Yut Kee revisit (Jalan Dang Wangi, KL)

Posted by vivien | Kuala Lumpur and Selangor | Friday 24 April 2009 10:07 am

had steamed sweet potato light coated with honey/syrup, nice
salted fish fried rice
looks like chinese fried rice
beef kuey tiaw which looks really smooth
my fish porridge, RM5
Yut Kee is frequented by the rich tai-tai/aunties and famous people, saw Elaine Daly and Kopitiam actor(a guy, don’t know his name) there.
Eating Asia recently blogged about their roast pork which make me salivate… haha
Also, refer to my previous post on Yut Kee.
