As i have posted on Tangkak’s Kon Lor Mee, here is what Tangkak’s is famous for – Beef noodle, it is just a bit further from Kon Lor Mee store. My colleague who also loves eating suggested that we go eat this beef noodle on our way from Cyberjaya -> Batu Pahat.
Young cook
Don’t fret if you don’t know where Tangkak is, or how far it is from KL, they have opened a branch in Jalan Imbi just this past month. Opening hour for Imbi branch is 9am – 8pm everyday.
Newspaper cuttings recommending this place.
Medium beef noodle: RM5. You have choice of either meehoon, mee, kuey tiaw or mix.
small portion, RM4. For a non-beef-noodle-lover as me, i like this soup, they also added salted vege inside(which is nice). They don’t sell beef balls, good things i find their beef noodle is nice because i don’t like beef innards.
Tangkak branch address:
20, Jalan Solok,
84900, Tangkak Johor.
Telephone: 012- 6373 768 or 06-9783 768
Opening hour: 8:30am – 5:30pm (not sure they open everyday for tangkak branch)
Refer to masak-masak for her Imbi branch review. they sell beef balls in imbi branch

If you ever go to Batu Pahat, which is about 250km from Kuala Lumpur, do stop by this confectionary gift shop, i like their sweet bean cake which pictured on the right. It cost RM3 for this handy pack. It is made from green bean, sugar, vegetable oil and wheat floor. Unlike its penang counterpart which has a pungent onion powder smell and taste(to me anyway), this has a mellowy sweet cooling taste. Also available is savoury bean cake, but i like this sweet version better.
Yong Sheng have branches in Muar(Johor), Melaka, Batu Pahat(Johor), Taman Sri Tebrau(Johor) and Kluang(Johor).

Fried selections, this restaurant is a hard-to-miss cornershop in Yong Peng.
Yong Tau Fu
My bowl of goodness, though it is not spectacular, i consider it to be comfort food, as the soup is sorta tasteless(which prob means there is no MSG), and the fishballs are not artificially springy. Not bad on a hot day.
They are in Popular book store’s food guide.
Do you feel angry looking at this receipt? because i sorta do, it is so complicated, anyway i think each piece of yong tau fu is RM0.70. and tax are probably calculated in which explains the RM19.05.
Address:
De-Top Food Junction Sdn Bhd

Taman Semberong Barat,
83700, Yong Peng,
Johor

Tangkak is a small town you have to pass thru if you are going Gunung Ledang. Remember how i rant here, that i have lost the photos, today i plug the SD memory card to my own notebook, there appear a folder called “photos” beside the usual “DCIM”-> “Pentax” folder, i don’t know how it got there, but i am happy 😛
We had Kon Lor Mee in Tangkak, it is at Lok Pin Hotel, not sure whether it serves as a hotel, but it is pretty run down, there is a RHB bank just few doors away.
Stall
Small RM3
Medium RM5
Big RM6
This is the noodle, look like Pan mee, but it is very springy, nice~! RM4 (neither small, medium or big, see the price list above -_-“)
