Missing Hoi Kee which serves heng hwa/ hing hwa food in brickfields(have stop operating since the rows of restaurant in Jalan Tun Sambanthan was demolished for new development around end of 2010), we thought woo lan will serve the same satisfying friend mee sua but go back disappointed.

Brickfields_Woo_Lan2

Business hour: 12pm-3pm(lunch); 6pm-10pm(dinner) closed on every monday except public holidays

Brickfields_Woo_Lan3

Curry seafood, RM30, expensive but delicious with lots of big fresh bouncy prawns

Brickfields_Woo_Lan4

Heng Hwa fried mee sua which is sticky and doesn’t taste good, it is so far behind Hoi Kee’s which have since stop operating when Jalan Tun Sambanthan zinc roof restaurant were demolished end 2010.

Overall, the seafood curry is worth a try, other blogger do raves about the seaweed tofu soup which taste like shark fin soup.

Charcoal_World_Steamboat1

Huge complex housing this steamboat restaurant, full of customers.

Charcoal_World_Steamboat2

Many soup base available, only chicken soup is free, wonder whether the fish head soup base (RM28) will be good.

Charcoal_World_Steamboat3

cheapest set available, ~RM68, recommended for 2 pax

Charcoal_World_Steamboat4

powered solely by charcoal, takes longer time to boil the soup.

Charcoal_World_Steamboat5

the chicken soup base not flavorful enough

Charcoal_World_Steamboat6

fresh prawns included in the set

Charcoal_World_Steamboat7

crabs are small but quite good

Charcoal_World_Steamboat8

Overall, i find it is quite expensive steamboat place as they don’t have those RM15-20 per pax sets, still prefer Damansara Village steamboat.

Address: Charcoal World Steamboat

Hartamas_Macguli2

Macguli Korean & Japanese fusion restaurant maned by 4 young chef

Hartamas_Macguli3

Was famished, and the complementary sizzling pan fried egg and other dishes are a welcoming sight indeed. Their black sesame gelatinous noodle is quite nice, they keep on checking whether any of the dishes above(except egg) are finished and are fast in refilling them.

Hartamas_Macguli4

Bibimbap with nice spring onion soup, around RM30

Hartamas_Macguli5

The kimchi pancake around RM20 is huge and oily, not so fond of this

Hartamas_Macguli6

Complementary dessert of icy sweet rice-dessert
