Am for a sucker for such recipe, quirky names or unique ways of cooking/baking… So what this so called “Six Minutes Chocolate Cake”? I got it from Chow Times, said to be prepared in six minutes, not inclusive of baking time of course.
Ingredients used: Fine Grain sugar(must be fine grain, else you won’t be able to sieve it thru), vanilla, soda bicarbonate(although recipe specified baking soda, i have none specified as such, only have baking powder and soda bicarbonate, chose to use soda bicarbonate…)Van Houten cocoa powder and white vinegar
There is just this lazy sunday where i am browsing online, wanting to make something, something simple, and end up choosing this, wavering on whether to go ahead making it cos i don’t have sugar and white vinegar, turn up mum store the sugar in freezer, and white vinegar is actually used for chinese cooking sometimes.
Sieving all the dried ingredients: flour, sugar, soda bicarbonate… siever too small, i give up.
Don’t have a weighing scale, so this is what i used to measure all the ingredients, one big spoon (1TBSP is 15ml, about 15g), actually 1 TBSP of flour(dried ingredient) and 1 TBSP of oil(liquid) has not the same weight… anyway, i baked this recipe without rigid measurement. As i am going to make cup cake and not cake, thus halving the amount for each ingredients except cocoa powder, this is going to be super chocolatey… 😉
The liquid: oil, vanilla…
Put it into oven, still looking flat
Done, doesn’t it look so pretty.
Take it out for cooling, look so pretty aint it? But it doesn’t taste awesome. Mixed reviews: some say ok, some say sweet (though i already put less sugar than specified in recipe), some say dry(though i think it is moist, just that it is sticky, kinda stick to your teeth kind of cup cake, maybe cos i didn’t halve the cocoa powder)
If you interested, can go Chow Time for recipe, it takes only 10 minutes baking time for the kind of cup cake size which i making this time.
I got this cupcake mould few months back in Tesco for about RM15-20, finally put it to use. This is a shallow cup cake mould, not deep dish type.

This is a second post on Happy Meal, a revisit to this bakery selling what westerners love to hate, but might just love it with practise… 😀 Durian, the thorny looking fruit and also known as the king of fruits.
How to get there? Imagine yourself standing in the most known intersection in Chinatown, with Longan drink somewhere behind you to the right side, and Soya bean stall in front of you, take this road in front of you.
Walking steadily, you will see Popular book store somewhere in front on the left side. Last time Popular book shop was at another area of Chinatown, i am not sure whether they moved or they are 2 shops. You can also see Hotel Malaya on your left side.
Yep, you have reach the intersection where Happy Meal is at. It is the corner shop on the right.
Baked goods on display
Durian tart, RM2.50, i find they are too creamy, not in a delicious way, as if they have put quite a bit of cornstarch in it…
Durian swiss roll, RM2.20, i find it to be so-so and not worth buying.
Well equipped kitchen
Famed durian puff, RM2.80 for 4 pieces, this is must try, can see strand of real durian flesh in the cream.
Durian Tart, closed up
Durian cake, RM1.30, nice cake with subtle durian taste, worth trying.
Durian swiss roll, closed up, the cream is same with the durian puff’s, taste like any other swiss roll.
Here my recount on a durian feast i had on one fine Saturday morning. Do bring your friends from oversea, westerners perhaps to this shop, sure will be good experience for them… 😀
First post on Happy Meal

One fine Saturday, went to this place for breakfast. This restaurant located just across from Tai Thong Odeon in Kepong.
Seafood noodle, RM5.50
Beef Noodle, RM5.50, for a beef lover.
Beef noodle stall, 2 choice of noodle: Pan Mee or Yee Mee.
Seafood noodle stall, they also sell Tom Yam Seafood noodle, Fish Head noodle, Fish Slice Noodle and Fish Paste Noodle.
Another place to go if you are craving seafood noodle or beef noodle, priced reasonably.

Before i even continue on this restaurant review, i lost 2 food post worthy photos, not exactly lost them, i thiiiink i deleted them accidentally. Well today went to Batu Pahat, Johor Bahru(southern most state of Malaysia, Batu Pahat about 250km from Selangor) for one day meeting with customer. And one the way we stop by Tanggak (Tanggak is about 150km from Selangor, and for comparison sake, Melaka is about 120km from Selangor ). We had “kon lor mee”, and the noodle is quite “Q”, it is hand-made… and the dish is white in color, contrary to dark “kon lor mee” in KL, cost RM4 for medium size. Anyway, as far as i know, Tanggak is famous for Beef Noodle, not this dish…
On the way back to KL, we stop by Yong Peng, which is about 10km from Batu Pahat for Yong Tou Fu. Restaurant called Anthony Yong Tau Fu or sumthing…, it is so so, not extra-ordinary, costing RM0.70 per piece. 3 of us ate for RM19(3 bowl Yong Tou Fu noodle + 1 coffee) not exactly a cheap meal.
Anyway, today i have stomache upset, bout 1 hour after the Tanggak noodle, could be the noodle, or the bread i ate in the morning, so this make the loss of 2 blog-worthy-food-photos less painful, thought i am cool about this food blogging thing, never thought i will take it so seriously. You don’t know the feeling, you just have to lose it to know what you have lost… gosh… how can food make me so philosophical…
Back to main topic… Went to this Ramen store in Shah Alam this past Monday, just after leaving customer site there.

Store front, there are 2 japanese restaurant in this row of shop. Though Shah Alam HICOM are mainly factories, but they have quite a number Japanese companies/factories here, thus many Japanese works here, mostly of high position.
Condiments: Vinegar(in white pot), chili powder etc
Looking towards Kitchen
There is a comic book section if you fancy reading comic while eating, most of customers(i would say 90%) of the customers are Japanese.
Gyoza(RM9), not bad
Soy Sauce Ramen, RM10
My order of Miso Ramen, RM12
Moyashu Soba, RM11, it is suppose to be soba, but they gave Ramen, but my colleague gobble it all up since his order is last to come, and too hungry to ask them to replace it with soba.
Overall, this is place for a hearty meal, not so much delicious meal. I don’t think it is authentically Japanese, prob the Japs dine here because they don’t have much choice. This is place where you get your stomach filled pretty nicely, the portion is really big, price is reasonable.
Address:
No. 34, Jalan Sekincan,
Section 26/9,
40000 Shah Alam
Telephone: 03- 5191 2075
Price: 10% service charge

Choose the ingredients you want and bring it to your own table. Each table has a insert of hotpot in the middle.
vege selection

RM84 for 6 person. 5 types of sauces + 5-in-1 sauce. Not exactly quality food, but it is the atmosphere and piping hot food which make it taste not half-bad. This stall is at Wai Sik Kai of Chai Leng park, it is at the furthest end of the road if you are coming from Pearl View hotel.
