Note, 16 May 2015: Mizu in TTDI Plaza already closed down some time back

Mizu1-TTDI-Plaza

Mizu is located in TTDI Plaza, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, their Saturdays ala-carte lunch buffet priced at RM50++(RM58 nett) is among one of the cheapest Japanese buffet around.

Mizu2-TTDI-Plaza

located on 2nd floor

Mizu3-TTDI-Plaza

They have lunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays, 12 noon to 3pm

Mizu4-Buffet

Mizu5-Menu

Order sheet

Mizu6-Appetizer

Yummy potato salad, edamame is a bit dry and not warm, chuka idako squid and tamago. Food here are served in tiny portion, 2 portion of tamago egg literally means 2 pieces of it. I like this as it enables me more stomach space for other items.

Mizu7-Sashimi

fatty salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellow tail and white tuna, all yummy

Mizu8-Chawanmushi

chawanmushi steamed egg is delicious as well, but my top is still those from Munakata 😛

Mizu9-soft-shell-crab-salad

soft shelled crab salad is so so

Mizu10-Hand-Rolls

California and Eel Handrolls

Mizu11-Maki

Mizu maki(front) and soft shelled crab maki at the back

Mizu12-Ebi-Tempura

Ebi tempura, wish it is less oily

Mizu13-Grilled

Grilled Unagi Eel and grilled Salmon

Mizu14-Shishamo

Shishamo is nice

Mizu15-Complimentary-Carpacio

Complementary Salmon Carpacio from the sushi chef is yummy

Mizu16-Seafood-Fried-Rice

Seafood fried rice which i didn’t try as i was stuffed by then

Mizu17-Teppanyaki-Scallop

Teppanyaki scallop, kinda rubbery and tasteless(without the sweetness from seafood)

Mizu18-Ice-Cream

love their house-made black sesame(goma) and green tea ice cream

Mizu19-Fresh-Fruits

Fresh fruits

Overall, i like the tiny portions and quality of their food. In comparison with a similar japanese buffet offering-Maiu or Umaiya, i will prefer Mizu over them.

Ginger Milk Curd Pudding Recipe

Ginger-Milk-Curd1

Pounce a knob size of old ginger in a pestle mortar to extract its juice without adding any water to it. Put about 1 or 2 tablespoon of ginger juice in each bowl.

Ginger-Milk-Curd2

Boil about 250g of milk till the side start to bubble, but not boiling, off the fire, then put about 2 teaspoon of sugar and stir. I used Goodday fresh milk. Some web sites recommended to cool the milk for a while, that it should not be too hot when being pour on to the ginger juice. Pour milk into ginger juice bowl in “teh tarik” fashion, meaning pouring the milk at a distance from top of bowl so that the ginger and milk can be mixed thoroughly.

Ginger-Milk-Curd3

It was set after 10 minutes, but it will be better to test whether it already coagulate 5 minutes into it, as it is better eaten hot.

Ginger-Milk-Curd4

Soft curd form. love it~

only 3 ingredients: milk, ginger and sugar. Try it, it is really easy to make.
