On a Sunday afternoon, went to this restaurant in Jalan Alor(near Bukit Bintang area) – Charn Kee which specialise in Fish Paste Noodle. Other choices include: Claypot Seafood Noodle, Tomyam claypot seafood noodle, dried minced meat noodle, nyonya curry noodle, Lum Mee, home made dumpling, home made fishball and on Sundays they is dried curry noodle.
Noodle choices include: mee, yee mee, meehoon, short rice noodle, kuey tiaw and fried mee sua.
Menu with no prices.
Fish paste noodle: ~RM6
home made fishball and home made dumpling RM0.90 each
Overall, i find the food fresh and soup is nice. But i think the fish ball lack taste and a bit hard. Their home made fish ball could be better if they mix in more dried cuttlefish bits.

After Pick n brew lunch, it is time for dessert… 😀 settle for Pasta Zanmai after seeing some tempting photo on the menu.

A pot of refillable green tea and ice for RM3
Macha Cha parfait it is
RM 15, layers of green tea jelly, vanilla ice cream, corn flakes, mashed red bean, green tea ice cream and fresh cream, lovely dessert with the right crunch and sweetness.
This doesn’t look catchy on the menu, but upon catching sight of person next table having this FROZEN strawberry, i just got to have it… hahaha
See, it is frozen
sour strawberry with vanilla ice cream filling, yumm… the strawberry is not icy hard, but nice to chew and just nice.
Their pasta does looks nice too, waitress will come and grate cheese for you, and they is one spagetti which comes with small pestle mortar grinding sesame seed yourself and mix it into spagetti (see pic in ~Brought up 2 SharE~)
Pasta Zanmai is under same group with Sushi Zanmai(very nice), Sushi Zen etc. Their japanese fair is quite good.

Pick and Brew is a newly opened restaurant, opened doors few months ago, owned by food blogger, Jackson Kah – ^^Living in Food Heaven^^. It is located in an obscure corner of 1 Utama, between old wing and new wing, across from Seoul Garden restaurant/above Pasta Zanmai. Been wanting to blog about this place, had a lunch set and a coffee break set some time back but didn’t snap any photos then. They have promotion this month, daily 11:00am – 9:30pm, set meal for RM28++. (soup + mains + coffee/tea)
As usual, they have coffee break promotion 3:00pm – 6:00pm for RM12++(coffee + dessert). A pot of freshly brewed coffee with your choice of coffee beans and selected pastry(dessert choices include danishes and cinnamon rolls, last time i had their delicious pancake with mashed pumpkins)
Pick n Brew specialise in coffee, they have beans from around the world, from mild coffee to strong ones, you choose the beans, and they brew it freshly for you.
One card holder can get 30% off ala carte menu from 6:00pm-9:30pm
Complimentary bread, dip in olive oil and balsamic vinegar, i like this better comparison with Italiannies’. There offer bread for each main ordered, but if you ask nicely, they will give you the bread. 🙂
Sliced beef with risotto, love the brown sauce, the risotto and beef taste good.
disappointing fish, a part of it is not cook through. I saw another customer had her fish sent back, suspect it is not cooked thru also.
Nice environment with soothing music.
My english breakfast tea
soup offered, their mushroom soup is thick and really nice.
starters.
some asian dish and desserts.
Overall, i like environment of this place, it might be better to order ala carte next time.

One of the better Pan Mee out there, the noodle is not too thin, and the soup is nice (boiled with anchovies/ikan bilis). The food taste good, but the environment may not be so, as this hawker stall is just next to main road. But, you can still go to try, this stall is also recommended by 8TV show: Ho Chak. In that show, they recommended their SzeChuan Spicy Noodle.

Size: small

Jalan Ipoh,

This stall is very near SRJK(C) Dengkil.
